Singer-songwriter Leah Williams has been playing music for most of her life, and writing songs for many years. Her debut CD represents some of the finest songs she has written. Her musical talents have been heard in various musical groups, performing original, traditional, folk and country music, but her passion is songwriting, which she showcases in the present duo with Mark.
Wind specialist Mark Dowding has been performing professionally for over 40 years, in styles as diverse as folk fusion, Gypsy jazz, Celtic and R&B. His current projects include The Wheat in the Barley and The Hot Club of Mars, both of which he co-founded. With this CD, he has added some recording and production credits under the able guidance of engineer/producer Victor Smith of FreemanTrax Studios.
Leah Williams and Mark Dowding have been performing together as a duo for over 15 years, creating the magic in the storytelling through thoughtful and expressive lyrics framed by instrumental counterpoint on guitar, flute, whistle, recorder, quena and harmonica. In addition to original material and folk favourites, they also have a repertoire of Celtic music featuring songs of the Scots bard, Robbie Burns.
